UCF beats Liberty 82-58

Dec 30, 2009 - 3:27 AM ORLANDO, Fla.(AP) -- Isaac Sosa and A.J. Tyler scored 13 points apiece to lead Central Florida past Liberty 82-58 in the first round of the UCF Holiday Classic on Tuesday night.

A.J. Rompza added 12 points and Keith Clanton grabbed 14 rebounds for the Knights (8-4), who play Jacksonville in the championship game at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The Knights led by six points at halftime and went on an 8-0 run midway through the second half to seal the win.

UCF, which is 5-0 at home this season, bounced back after losses to rival South Florida and No. 10 Connecticut.

The Knights shot 51.9 percent from the floor for the game (28-for-54), compared to just a 33.3 mark for the Flames (21-for-63).

Kyle Ohman paced the Flames (6-7) with 18 points and Antwan Burrus added 10 points.

The Flames had a two-game winning streak snapped.
