Murray State routs SIU-Edwardsville 82-51

Dec 31, 2009 - 4:29 AM EDWARDSVILLE, Ill.(AP) -- Isaiah Canaan scored 17 points and Murray State turned a close game into a rout, defeating Southern Illinois-Edwardsville 82-51 Wednesday night.

The Racers (10-3) led just 40-38 with 15 minutes remaining, then outscored SIU-Edwardsville 42-13 the rest of the way. The 31-point margin at the end was the biggest lead for the Racers.

Murray State shot a blistering 62.5 percent for the game, including 68 percent (17-for-25) in the second half. SIU-Edwardsville shot 33.3 percent in the game.

Donte Poole scored 13 points for Murray State, Tony Easley had 12 and Isacc Miles 10.

Mark Yelovich had 11 points and seven rebounds for the Cougars (2-12), though he was just 4-for-15 from the field.
