Prairie View A&M defeats Southern U., 68-49
Jan 5, 2010 - 4:50 AM PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas(AP) -- Darnell Hugee scored 19 points on 9-of-12 shooting Monday night to lead Prairie View A&M to a 68-49 victory over Southern University.Tim Meadows scored 13 for the Panthers (6-6, 1-0 Southwestern Athletic), who never trailed in the game and led by as many as 26 points. Michael Webb scored 11 and Christopher Jones had 12 rebounds for Prairie View, which outrebounded Southern 50-36.
Madut Bol was the only player in double figures for Southern (2-11, 0-1) with 10 points, eight of them coming from the free-throw line. The Jaguars shot 24 percent (13-for-54) from the field in the game.
