Morehead State defeats Tennessee State 72-66

Jan 5, 2010 - 3:26 AM MOREHEAD, Ky.(AP) -- Les Simmons scored 13 points and Morehead State defeated Tennessee State 72-66 for its fourth straight win on Monday night.

Kenneth Faried grabbed 12 rebounds as the Eagles (8-6, 3-1 Ohio Valley Conference) dominated the boards 40-23.

Faried, the reigning Ohio Valley Conference Co-Player of the Week and Eagles' leading scorer (16.2 points per game), was held to just nine points in 28 minutes and fouled out with 4:37 to go.

Terrance Hill and Maze Stallworth scored 12 points each for Morehead State, which scored 32 points in the paint and tallied 17 second-chance points.

Jacquan Nobles paced the Tigers (3-9, 0-4) with 20 points on 7 of 13 shooting, including going 4 of 6 from 3-point range.

Josh Sain added 17 points for Tennessee State, which dropped its fourth straight.
