Glenn leads IUPUI past Western Illinois 67-54

Jan 10, 2010 - 3:02 AM INDIANAPOLIS(AP) -- Robert Glenn had 19 points, five blocks and two steals to lead Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis over Western Illinois 67-54 Saturday night.

Alex Young scored 16 points and Greg Rice added 14 for the Jaguars (11-7, 4-1 Summit).

Matt Lander came off the bench to score 14 points and lead Western Illinois (6-9, 0-5). David Gebru added 12 points for the Leathernecks.

Western Illinois struggled from the field, hitting just 7 of 23 (30 percent) in the first half as IUPUI started the game with a 10-0 run. The Leathernecks trailed 30-20 at the break.

Their shooting improved to 12 of 25 (48 percent) in the second half. After trailing 48-35 with 8:20 to play in the game, Western Illinois used an 8-0 run to come as close as 48-43, but young responded with a 3-pointer and the Leathernecks never got any closer.

IUPUI shot 50 percent overall.
