Bucknell beats American 72-68 in OT
Jan 14, 2010 - 3:17 AM LEWISBERG, Pa.(AP) -- Patrick Behan scored 22 points to lead Bucknell to its first Patriot League win of the season, 72-68 in overtime against American University on Wednesday night.Bryson Johnson, who hit a 3-pointer with 32 seconds left to force the extra frame, finished with 16 points for the Bison (6-12, 1-1).
American jumped out to a 64-63 lead midway through overtime, but Mike Muscala hit a jumper and a layup to spark a 9-2 run to seal the win for Bucknell. Johnson went 4-for-4 from the foul line in the final 15 seconds for the Bison.
Vlad Moldoveanu recorded his second straight double-double for the Eagles (3-14, 0-2), scoring 19 points and grabbing a career-high 13 rebounds. Nick Hendra added 15 points, Stephen Lumpkins had 10 and Daniel Munoz dished out a career-high six assists.
Bucknell snapped a three-game skid, while American has lost three straight.
