IPFW rallies late to beat Southern Utah 61-56
Jan 15, 2010 - 2:13 AM FORT WAYNE, Ind.(AP) -- Deilvez Yearby had 19 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks, and IPFW outscored Southern Utah 19-6 in the final 3:34 to post a 61-56 victory on Thursday night.Trey McCorkle had 14 points and Ben Botts 11 for IPFW (7-9, 2-4 Summit League).
Davis Baker had 23 points and Matt Hodgson 12 for Southern Utah (5-12, 1-5).
The Mastodons trailed 50-42 before Yearby helped them rally, scoring eight of his points during the late run. Yearby's 3-point shot closed the gap to 52-49, and his dunk and subsequent free throw gave IPFW a 55-54 lead with 1:28 remaining.
After the teams exchanged field goals, the Mastodons went 4 for 4 from the free-throw line in the final 32 seconds.
