Siena sinks Manhattan 83-68
Jan 19, 2010 - 2:43 AM ALBANY, N.Y.(AP) -- Alex Franklin scored 23 points and Ryan Rossiter recorded a double-double, leading Siena over Manhattan 83-68 on Monday night.Rossiter scored 19 points and grabbed 14 boards for the Saints (15-4, 8-0 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), who have won nine straight. Kyle Downey added 16 points and Clarence Jackson had 15.
Manhattan led 24-20 midway through the opening half, but Jackson nailed a pair of 3s and Downey added another in just over a minute to spark a 19-7 run. The Saints led by eight at halftime and never trailed again.
Rico Pickett scored 26 points and Antoine Pearson added 10 more for the Jaspers (7-11, 2-6), who have lost three in a row.
Siena shot 73.9 percent from the free throw line (17-for-23) compared to just a 55.6 mark (5-for-9) for Manhattan.
The Saints outrebounded the Jaspers 34-29.
