Texas A&M-Corpus Christi edges Texas State 63-60

Feb 11, 2010 - 4:33 AM CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas(AP) -- Kevin Palmer scored 26 points and Demond Watt added 16 as Texas A&M-Corpus Christi edged Texas State 63-60 Wednesday night.

Palmer scored 21 of his points in the second half and had eight rebounds for the Islanders (13-10, 7-2 Southland).

Cameron Johnson finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds for Texas State (11-13, 5-5), and Ryan White added 12 points.

Two free throws by Watt gave Corpus Christi a 61-51 lead with 5:07 to play, but the Bobcats pulled to within 62-60 with 1:03 remaining. Johnson fueled the 9-1 run with seven points.

After Palmer's free throw put the Islanders up 63-60, J.B. Conley attempted his second buzzer-beating 3, but this time was off the mark. Conley beat the clock at the end of the first half to put Texas State up 29-28.
