Holman, Detroit defeat Wisconsin-Green Bay 62-53
Mar 6, 2010 - 1:30 AM INDIANAPOLIS(AP) -- Eli Holman had a double-double and Detroit led from start to finish in a 62-53 victory over Wisconsin-Green Bay on Friday in the second round of the Horizon League tournament.Holman posted 16 points and 11 rebounds for the seventh-seeded Titans (20-13), who will face second-seeded Wright State (19-11) in the semifinals Saturday. Xavier Keeling added 12 points on a 3-pointer and 9 of 10 free throws.
Bryquis Perine scored a game-high 22 points for the third-seeded Phoenix (21-12). Troy Cotton added 12.
The Titans shot only 44.4 percent (20 of 45) and 20.0 percent (2 of 10) from 3-point range. But that was better than Wisconsin-Green Bay, which put up numbers of 37.7 percent (20 of 53) and 18.8 percent (3 of 16).
Detroit's lead reached double figures at 42-32 with 13:00 left. The Phoenix never got closer than five thereafter.
