Butler eyes fourth straight win over Evansville

INDIANAPOLIS (Ticker) -- Butler attempts to defeat Evansville for the fourth consecutive time Friday.

The 16th-ranked Bulldogs and the Aces renew their in-state rivalry for the first time in three years. Butler survived for a 65-64 win on December 6, 2003.

Butler has won seven of the last eight meetings with Evansville and is coming off a win over another Indiana rival.

A.J. Graves scored 25 points, including four 3-pointers, and Mike Green added 18 as Butler bounced back from its first loss of the season with a 68-65 victory over Purdue on Saturday.

The Bulldogs shot just 39 percent (20-of-52), but forced 19 turnovers.

Evansville extended its winning streak to four games following an 80-75 win over Austin Peay on Monday. Kyle Anslinger netted 26 points, including four 3-pointers, and Matt Webster added 18 for the Aces, who shot 62 percent (29-of-47) overall.

Butler is 5-1 this season against Indiana schools.
