Memphis looks to remain perfect in Conference USA

HATTIESBURG, Mississippi (Ticker) -- No. 19 Memphis tries to remain atop the Conference USA standings Saturday when it visits Southern Mississippi.

The Tigers (12-3, 2-0 Conference USA) are tied with UTEP atop the league and are coming off a 79-69 triumph at Houston on Thursday.

Chris Douglas-Roberts scored 16 points, Jeremy Hunt added 14 and Robert Dozier 12 for the Tigers, who posted their fourth consecutive victory.

Southern Miss (11-3, 1-0) opened league play with a 57-56 victory at SMU on Wednesday. Jeremy Wise produced 11 points and Courtney Beasley 10 for the Golden Eagles, who survived a pair of Mustang shots right before the buzzer.

Memphis routed Southern Miss in both meetings last season.
