Alabama aims for rare road win at Vanderbilt
Jan 17, 2007 - 4:00 PM No. 9 Alabama (14-2) at Vanderbilt (11-6) 8:00 pm ESTNASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) -- The road has not been kind this season to Alabama, which looks to turn things around in a tough venue.
The ninth-ranked Crimson Tide look to improve their 2-2 road record Wednesday when they visit Vanderbilt in a Southeastern Conference showdown.
Alabama had its six-game winning streak snapped in a loss at Arkansas on January 6 before bouncing back with an impressive home win over Louisiana State three days later.
The Crimson Tide (14-2, 1-1 SEC West), who also lost at Notre Dame this season, have lost eight straight road contests vs. Vanderbilt and have not won at Memorial Coliseum since 1990.
However, the Crimson Tide on Wednesday will face off with a Vanderbilt squad which has dropped two of its last three games, including an 85-73 setback at Georgia on Saturday.
The Commodores (11-6, 1-2 SEC East) snapped its four-game skid in the overall series vs. Tennessee with an overtime win last season.
