Graves looks to lead No. 15 Butler past Wisconsin-Green Bay

Jan 20, 2007 - 3:01 PM Wisc Green Bay (10-8) at No. 15 Butler (16-2) 2:00 pm EST

INDIANAPOLIS (Ticker) - The closest thing to a sure thing for Butler is A.J. Graves' uncanny accuracy at the free throw line.

Graves tries to lead the 15th-ranked Bulldogs to their 19th straight home victory and seventh in eight games overall Saturday when they face Wisconsin-Green Bay in a Horizon League encounter.

The league's leading scorer (18.1), the 6-1 Graves tops the nation in foul shooting, hitting an incredible 82-of-83 this season. The junior guard has made his last 54, the sixth-longest streak in Division I history.

Butler held an opponent to less than 40 points for the second time this season in Wednesday's 67-39 victory over Youngstown State, which raised its league mark to 4-1. Pete Campbell scored 17 points and Mike Green added 16.

The Bulldogs can match the best 19-game start in school history against the Phoenix, who have split their last four contests and are 2-3 in the Horizon League.

Wisconsin-Green Bay is coming off last Saturday's 78-67 loss to Wright State. Ryan Evanochko made 9-of-13 shots and scored 27 points for the Phoenix, who trailed, 27-5, in the first 12 minutes.

Butler has won 19 of the past 24 matchups with Wisconsin-Green Bay, including a sweep of all three meetings last season.
