Texas A&M snaps 14-game losing streak against Oklahoma

Jan 27, 2007 - 9:51 PM COLLEGE STATION, Texas (Ticker) -- Acie Law IV finally knows how it feels to beat Oklahoma.

The senior guard scored 10 of his 19 points in the last 2:50 to help sixth-ranked Texas A&M snap a 14-game losing streak against the Sooners with a 70-61 victory in a battle of Big 12 Conference rivals.

Oklahoma (11-8, 3-4 Big 12) entered with a 25-1 record against the Aggies, who earned their lone win in the series on February 24, 1999.

Law IV experienced six of those losses. He was not about to lose another one.

After Michael Neal hit a pair of free throws to pull the Sooners within 57-53 with 3:23 left, Law scored the next eight points on a layup, three free throws and a three-point play.

Law added two more free throws with 52 seconds remaining to give Texas A&M (16-3, 4-1) a 68-58 lead.

Antanas Kavaliauskas scored 13 of his 20 points in the first half for the Aggies, who will play at Oklahoma on February 17.

Nate Carter led the Sooners with 19 points, but converted just 3-of-12 shots. He made all 13 of his free throws.
