Clemson looks to bounce back vs. Virginia

Jan 28, 2007 - 2:40 PM Virginia (12-6) at No. 17 Clemson (18-3) 1:00 pm EST

CLEMSON, South Carolina (Ticker) -- After a "timing error" Clemson looks to bounce back with vigor.

The 17th ranked Tigers aim to claw back into the win column when they host Virginia in an Atlantic Coast Conference clash on Sunday.

After starting the season 17-0, Clemson has dropped three-of-four including a heartbreaking 68-66 loss to Duke on a last second layup on Thursday.

ACC officials reviewed the game tape and acknowledged a "timing error" when the clock was not started on time after Vernon Hamilton's steal and 3-pointer tied the game.

Hamilton finished the contest with 21 points for the Tigers, who shot 46 percent (25-of-55) from the floor.

J.R. Reynolds scored 29 points and Sean Singletary added 27 to lead the Cavaliers, who have won three straight, to a 71-58 victory over NC State on Wednesday.
