LUBBOCK, Texas (Ticker) -- The Big 12 Conference has been finding out the hard way how devastating Texas freshman Kevin Durant can be.

Durant looks to lead No. 23 Texas to its third consecutive victory and eighth in 10 contests Wednesday when it visits Texas Tech in a Big 12 battle.

A 6-9 swingman, Durant leads the Longhorns (15-5, 5-1 Big 12) in scoring (24.4) and rebounding (11.0). He has been more stunning in conference play, averaging 32.7 points and 13.0 boards in the Big 12.

Durant hit 9-of-18 shots and 13-of-15 free throws to score 34 points - his fourth 30-point game against Big 12 foes - and A.J. Abrams added 22 to lead Texas in Saturday's 84-79 triumph over Baylor.

The Red Raiders (15-6, 4-2) have split their last four contests, are 10-1 at home this season and 78-14 here since the 2001-2002 campaign.

Texas Tech is coming off Saturday's 71-58 loss at Missouri. Martin Zeno scored 14 points and leading scorer Jarrius Jackson was held to 12 on 4-of-12 shooting.

The Longhorns have won 16 of the last 18 encounters against the Red Raiders, including seven of eight here.
