Buffalo crushes Buffalo State 93-65
Dec 13, 2009 - 3:58 AM BUFFALO, N.Y.(AP) -- Sean Smiley scored 23 points as Buffalo defeated Buffalo State 93-65 on Saturday.Smiley shot 9-for-17 and nailed four 3-pointers for the Bulls (5-3). Calvin Betts and Mike Clifford scored 14 each, while Zach Filzen chipped in with 13.
Buffalo jumped out to an early double-digit lead, as two free throws from Betts made the score 13-3 with 15:46 remaining in the first half. Later in the half, the Bulls went on a 13-0 run, and two free throws from Betts gave Buffalo a 41-17 lead with 3:50 until halftime.
Buffalo led by at least 22 points for the entire second half.
The Bengals were paced by Jake Simmons, who scored 15 points. Glenroy Carr added 12 points, eight rebounds and three steals in the loss.
Buffalo State was outscored 34-20 in the paint, and allowed the Bulls' bench to score 41 points.
