Louisiana Tech defeats Centenary 102-96 in 2 OTs

Dec 13, 2009 - 4:16 AM SHREVEPORT, La.(AP) -- Kyle Gibson scored 28 points and Louisiana Tech pulled away in the final minute of the second overtime to defeat Centenary 102-96 on Saturday night.

Gibson, who entered averaging 21.4 points, scored seven points in the final 2:39, including a three-point play that gave the Bulldogs (8-2) a 96-94 lead.

Olu Ashaolu hit a free throw and Gibson made four straight to give Louisiana Tech a 101-96 advantage with 8 seconds remaining.

Gibson forced the second overtime with a layup with 28 seconds left in the first OT.

Magnum Rolle added 22 points and 11 rebounds, DeAndre Brown scored 18, Jamel Guyton had 15 and Ashaolu finished with 10 points for Louisiana Tech.

Daman Starring and David Perez scored 19 points each for Centenary (4-5), which was 20-for-29 on 3-point attempts. Jerrald Bonham and Matt Marseille added 14 points each and Pedro Maciel scored 13.
