Memphis looks to continue home dominance vs. Tulane

Feb 10, 2007 - 4:18 PM Tulane (11-10) at No. 10 Memphis (20-3) 8:00 pm EST

MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Chasing a top seed in the NCAA tournament for the second straight season, Memphis wishes it could play at home in the postseason.

Owners of the fourth-longest home winning streak in the nation, the 10th-ranked Tigers will look to keep their stellar play at FedEx Forum going when the take on Tulane Saturday.

Memphis (20-3, 10-0 Conference USA) has won all 13 games at home this season and 26 in a row, dating to a loss to Texas on January 6, 2006. The impressive string trails BYU, Air Force and Gonzaga, which has won 49 straight on their homecourt, besting the Falcons and Cougars, who have reeled off 28 in a row apiece.

Memphis defeated UAB, 70-56, Thursday for its 12th straight win, the second longest win streak behind the current 15-game run by defending national champion Florida. Jeremy Hunt erupted in the first half, scoring 25 of his career-high 30 points and draining six 3-pointers for the Tigers, who shot just 36 percent (23-of-63) from the field overall.

The Tigers will look to continue their dominance of the Green Wave (11-10, 4-5), who have lost their last 11 games against Memphis, dating to February 9, 2000.

However, Tulane has been hot recently, winning three of its last four games, including a 92-67 win over UTEP on Wednesday.
