Winston-Salem sinks Coppin State 55-42

Jan 17, 2010 - 12:46 AM WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.(AP) -- Paul Davis scored nine points and pulled down 10 rebounds, leading Winston-Salem past Coppin State 55-42 in cold shooting contest for both schools on Saturday.

The Rams (5-9) didn't have a single player score in double figures and finished shooting 38 percent from the floor (19-for-50).

Kareem Brown scored 13 points and Vince Goldsberry added 10 for the Eagles (5-10), who shot just 26.5 percent (15-for-56).

The Rams led by 11 at halftime and held off the Eagles in the second half, outscoring them 25-23.

Winston Salem outrebounded Coppin State 47-31 and outshot the Eagles from the foul line 59.1 percent (13-for-22) to 57.1 percent (8-for-14).

The Rams have won back to back games for the first time this season, while the Eagles have lost six straight.

The teams play again in Baltimore on Feb. 15.
