SIU-Edwardsville snaps 10-game skid with 92-71 win

Jan 22, 2010 - 3:46 AM EDWARDSVILLE, Ill.(AP) -- Southern Illinois University Edwardsville snapped a 10-game losing streak Thursday with a 92-71 victory over Robert Morris-Chicago.

The Cougars (3-16) emptied their bench and had 12 players score against Robert Morris, an NAIA school.

LeShaun Murphy and Nikola Bundalo led the way with 16 points each. Aamir McCleary added 13 points and six assists.

Dee Purnell led Robert Morris (11-9) with 24 points. Trey David added 14, Brandon Myles 12 and Ephrem Davis 10.

SIUE dominated inside, outscoring the Eagles 56-26 in the paint and outrebounding them 40-30. The Cougars also got 37 points from their bench and shot 52 percent (39 for 75) from the field.

Robert Morris also shot well, hitting 47.2 percent (25 for 53) from the field - including 9 of 17 shots from 3-point range - but committed 15 turnovers.
