Old Dominion defeats William & Mary 58-55

Jan 24, 2010 - 2:55 AM WILLIAMSBURG, Va.(AP) -- Gerald Lee scored 15 points and Old Dominion defeated William & Mary 58-55 on Saturday night.

The Monarchs (16-5, 8-1 Colonial Athletic Association) trailed 55-54 with 54 seconds left, before Lee hit two free throws 11 seconds later.

The Tribe (14-5, 6-3) didn't score the rest of the way, as David Schneider missed two 3-pointers and Old Dominon's Keyon Carter hit two free throws in the Monarchs seventh straight win.

Old Dominion took its biggest lead of the second half, 48-43, on Carter's jump shot with 6:21 to go. But William & Mary went on a 10-4 run to take a 53-52 lead on two free throws by Steven Hess with 2:05 left.

Ken Bazemore added 14 points for Old Dominion and Frank Hassell chipped in 11.

Quinn McDowell scored 16 points and Schneider had 14 for the Tribe, who shot 33.3 percent from the field (18 of 54).
