Southern California beats Washington 87-61
Jan 24, 2010 - 6:25 AM LOS ANGELES(AP) -- Marcus Johnson scored 22 points to lead Southern California to an 87-61 win over Washington on Saturday night.The score was the highest this season for the Trojans (12-7, 4-3 Pac-10) and eclipsed their previous high of 77 points, which they scored against both U.C. Riverside and Tennessee in earlier matchups.
Dwight Lewis finished with 19 points for the Trojans, while Alex Stepheson and Mike Gerrity each scored 15 and Nikola Vucevic had 11.
Washington (12-7, 3-5 Pac-10) was led by Venoy Overton, who scored 18 points off the bench.
The win meant the Trojans, who were picked to finish ninth in the Pac-10, moved into a five-way tie for second along with Arizona, Arizona State, UCLA and Stanford. California led the league with a 5-2 record.
