Williams, Caracter lead UTEP over Tulsa 73-59
Feb 7, 2010 - 5:48 AM EL PASO, Texas(AP) -- Jeremy Williams had 15 points and Derrick Caracter added 12 points and 12 rebounds as UTEP beat Tulsa 73-59 in a Conference USA first-place showdown on Saturday night.Christian Polk and Arnett Moultrie had 10 points each for the Miners (17-5, 8-1 C-USA), who won their seventh straight game.
Jerome Jordan had 20 points and five rebounds for Tulsa (18-5, 7-2).
The score stayed close until UTEP took control midway through the second half. Julyan Stone gave the Miners the lead for good, 38-37, with a jumper, starting a 23-10 run that resulted in a 59-47 advantage with 5:59 remaining.
Moultrie had 11 rebounds.
