Arizona defeats USC 86-84 in double OT

Mar 6, 2010 - 9:58 PM TUCSON, Ariz.(AP) -- Guard Nic Wise scored 15 points, including the game-winning layup with 1.5 seconds left as Arizona defeated USC 86-84 in double overtime on Saturday.

Wise, a senior playing in his final regular-season game at McKale Center, went through traffic to make the winning shot off the backboard. USC's Donte Smith missed a tying shot at the buzzer.

Guard Kyle Fogg and Derrick Williams led Arizona (16-14, 10-8 Pac-10) with 18 points each. Fogg sank three free throws after being fouled on a 3-point shot with two-tenths of a second left in regulation to tie the score at 69 and force the first overtime.

In the first overtime, USC's Marcus Simmons' jumper tied it at 78 with 16.3 seconds left.

Dwight Lewis led USC (16-14, 8-10) with 21 points, but he fouled out with 1:07 remaining in the first overtime. It was the Trojans' final game of the season.
