Chattanooga fires Shulman
Mar 21, 2013 - 1:10 PM Chattanooga, TN (Sports Network) - The University of Tennessee-Chattanooga has fired men's basketball coach John Shulman after nine seasons.Shulman guided the Mocs to a record of 145-146 with NCAA Tournament appearances in 2005 and 2009. Chattanooga finished 13-19 this past season after an 11-21 mark in 2011-12.
"I believe it is important to recognize and appreciate the contributions that Coach Shulman made to our athletics program and our student-athletes," said UTC interim chancellor Dr. Grady Bogue. "In recent years, however, the performance record has not reached a standard that John, the university or fans found satisfying."
Only Mack McCarthy has more wins in Chattanooga's history with 243.
