Georgia State's Thomas declared ineligible
Dec 8, 2014 - 10:03 PM Atlanta, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - Georgia State guard Jeff Thomas has been declared ineligible to play this season by the NCAA, the school announced Monday.Thomas, a 6-foot-5 freshman from Ohio, was signed during the early-signing period last year and hasn't yet appeared in a game for the Panthers.
He will be a redshirt freshman next season.
Georgia State said it has exhausted the appeals process.
"We are obviously disappointed with the decision," Panthers coach Ron Hunter said in a statement. "We will continue to support Jeff as he works toward his degree this year and look forward to him joining the team as a redshirt freshman next year. We consider the matter closed and will continue to work on improving our team every day."
