Jan 15, 2015 - 2:09 PM Laramie, WY (SportsNetwork.com) - Aqeel Quinn finished with 14 points as San Diego State pulled away from No. 25 Wyoming during the second half for a 60-52 victory on Wednesday.

Trey Kell scored 12 points and Winston Shepard totaled 10 points and six rebounds for the Aztecs (13-4, 3-1 MWC), who have won six of their last seven games.

Larry Nance Jr. had 19 points and eight boards, while Josh Adams supplied 14 points and five rebounds for the Cowboys (15-3, 4-1), who had their seven-game winning streak come to an end.

"There is always a lot of disappointment when you fall short, but I did not think we lost," said Wyoming coach Larry Shyatt. "I thought they took it from us."

San Diego State went ahead 19-14 with 6:12 to play in the first half after Shepard supplied seven points during a 9-2 spurt.

Adams scored with a jumper and Charles Hankerson Jr. hit back-to-back treys to give Wyoming a 22-21 lead with 2:15 left in the first half.

Malik Pope drained a 3-pointer and made two free throws for the Aztecs, but Nance's jumper with 21 seconds to play pulled Wyoming within 26-24 at halftime.

Nance's dunk got Wyoming within 33-32 less than five minutes into the second half, but Quinn was good from beyond the arc to start an 11-2 burst that featured consecutive treys from Kell and Dakarai Allen for a 44-34 lead with 12:04 to go.

After an Adams layup, San Diego State ran its lead up to 12 points on a Shepard jumper and a pair of Kell free throws.

Trailing by eight points with 1:20 to play, Riley Grabau was fouled while attempting a 3-pointer and made each of the ensuing free throws for Wyoming, making it a 51-46 game.

Kell made six of San Diego State's nine successful free throws down the stretch as the Aztecs held on for the win.
