No. 13 Utah blows out Colorado
Feb 8, 2015 - 5:27 AM Boulder, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Utah rode another blowout to a share of first place in the Pac-12.Brandon Taylor scored 18 points, Jordan Loveridge had 11 points and 10 rebounds and the No. 13 Utes shot almost 58 percent in a 79-51 win over Colorado on Saturday night.
Utah (18-4, 8-2 Pac-12) is tied atop the conference with No. 6 Arizona, which was upset by Arizona State earlier Saturday.
The Utes picked up their 12th victory of 20 points or more this season, breaking a tie with Notre Dame for most in the country. The have won four of their last five games.
Dominique Collier had 11 points for Colorado and Josh Scott scored 10 but the Buffaloes (11-11, 4-6) shot under 29 percent in their sixth loss in eight games.
The Utes made 13 of their 22 3-pointers and led by as many as 36 points late in the second half.
They opened the game on a 9-0 run led by Jakob Poeltl and Delon Wright and never looked back. Their advantage reached double digits for the first time less than seven minutes into the game and was 35-23 at halftime.
They held Colorado to 30 percent shooting in the first half and 29 in the second.
