CBI field set

Mar 16, 2015 - 3:23 AM Princeton, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - The 16-team field for the 2015 College Basketball Invitational Tournament was announced Sunday night.

The first three rounds of the tournament are single-elimination but the two finalists will play a best-of-three series. All of the tournament's games are at home sites.

The tournament kicks off with Rider playing Loyola-Chicago on Tuesday, and the rest of the opening round will take place Wednesday. That includes a UC Santa Barbara and Oral Roberts encounter, with the winner playing Tuesday's victor.

On top of the bracket, Colorado clashes with Gardner-Webb and the winner will play either Pepperdine or Seattle. On the bottom, Stony Brook squares off with Mercer, with the victor battling either Eastern Michigan or Louisiana Monroe.

On the other side of the bracket, Vermont plays Hofstra. The winner will advance to face either Radford or Delaware State.

The finals begin on March 30. Siena won the tournament last season.
