Morgan, Michigan State take on Missouri

KANSAS CITY, Missouri (Ticker) -- Sophomore Raymar Morgan and No. 12 Michigan State will look to continue their hot start when they take on Missouri in the semifinals of the CBE Classic on Monday.

Morgan scored a career-high 25 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in the season-opening rout against Chicago State on Tuesday and had 13 points and 14 rebounds in the Spartans' 18-point win over Louisiana-Monroe on Wednesday.

Preseason All-American Drew Neitzel has scored 13.5 points per game in Michigan State's two blowout wins, and has also dished out 6.5 assists.

Missouri, which has not been to the NCAA tournament since 2002-03, is looking to begin the season 4-0 for the second straight campaign.

DeMarre Carroll leads four Tigers who average in double figures, scoring at 19.0 points per game. The junior is also averaging 8.3 rebounds per game in his first season with Missouri, after transferring from Vanderbilt.

It is the first meeting between the schools since Michigan State won, 79-61, in December 1984.

The winner fill face either Maryland or No. 2 UCLA in the final on Tuesday.
