MANHATTAN, Kansas (Ticker) - It's been more than 40 years since Oregon and Kansas State have squared off in men's basketball. The two teams will meet on Thursday as part of the Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood Series.

The 17th-ranked Ducks, coming off a 110-79 victory over San Francisco that followed a 99-87 loss to Saint Mary's,,have been flying offensively. Oregon has scored at least 80 points in every game, hit 90 points three times and topped 100 twice. The Ducks are shooting 52 percent from the field and 43 percent from 3-point range.

All five of Oregon's starters are averaging in double figures. Senior guard Malik Hairston tops the Ducks at 19.7 points per game, followed by sophomore guard and senior forward Maarty Leunen (16.0 ppg), senior guard Bryce Taylor (14.3) and sophomore forward Joevan Catron. Leunen is averaging 10.5 rebounds per game and Catron 9.5.

The Wildcats start one of the youngest teams in the nation with four freshmen and a senior, but that hasn't prevented their quick start. Freshman forward Michael Beasley is averaging 27.2 points and 15.5 rebounds.

Freshman guard Jacob Pullen has been a consistent outside compliment to the 6-10 Beasley, averaging 14.2 points. Freshman forward Bill Walker is averaging 12.5 points for Kansas State, which won its last two games at the Old Spice Classic in Orlando after dropping its opener to George Mason.

The Wildcats have won both of the previous meetings. The teams last met in the 1966-67 season.
