CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee (Ticker) -- The last time No. 12 Tennessee and Chattanooga played, the Mocs ended the Volunteers' 23-game winning streak in the series.

Tennessee will look to start a new streak on Tuesday with the trip down I-75 South in its first true road test of the season.

The Volunteers (7-1) have won two straight since dropping a 97-78 decision to then-No. 16 Texas. Tennessee is coming off a 98-70 rout of Louisiana-Lafayette on Friday.

Senior guard JaJuan Smith leads the Volunteers in scoring at 14.8 points, just ahead of senior guard Chris Lofton (14.3) and sophomore forward Tyler Smith (13.4). Smith is 17 points shy of 1,000 for his collegiate career.

Chattanooga (4-3) opened Southern Conference play on Saturday with an 87-74 victory over The Citadel. Junior guard Stephen McDowell scored a team-high 22 points for the Mocs.

McDowell leads Chattanooga in scoring at 18.3 points per game. Junior forward Nicchaeus Doaks averages 14 points and freshman guard Stephen McClellan 10 for the Mocs.

Tennessee is making its first trip to McKenzie Arena in 25 years. The Vols ruined the arena's opening night with a 55-49 victory on December 1, 1982.
