Butler seeks second straight 8-0 start
Dec 6, 2007 - 2:28 PM No. 13 Butler (7-0) at Detroit (4-3) 7:05 pm ESTDETROIT (Ticker) -- After impressively making its way through a tough early non-conference schedule, No. 13 Butler opens its Horizon League slate Thursday against Detroit.
On the way to its second straight 8-0 start, Butler has registered four consecutive victories against major conference opponents, including Saturday's 65-46 win over Ohio State.
The Bulldogs overcame their worst shooting performance of the season, shooting just 41 percent (23-for-56) from the field, including 30 percent (9-for-30) from the arc.
Butler overcame the poor shooting though by holding its fourth opponent under 50 points. The Bulldogs held the Buckeyes to just 16 second-half points and are allowing only 57.1 points per game.
The Titans also will be playing their first league game following a 70-66 loss to Central Michigan on Saturday. Senior guard Jon Goode matched a season high with 24 points for Detroit, which had a three-game winning streak snapped.
