Unbeaten Duke faces slumping Michigan

DURHAM, North Carolina (Ticker) -- When No. 7 Duke faces Michigan on Saturday, it will be a matchup of teams off to far different starts this season.

The Blue Devils are perfect through eight games for the third time in four years and the 14th time overall in 28 years under Mike Krzyzewski. The Wolverines have lost their three games.

Duke has won an NCAA-best 55 consecutive home games against non-conference opponents and has won 34 consecutive games in the month of December. The Blue Devils are 38-1 in December since the 2000-01 season.

Freshman forward Kyle Singler, who posted his second double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds in Duke's 79-73 victory over Davidson last Saturday, leads Duke in scoring with 14.1 points per game.

Sophomore guard Gerald Henderson averages 13.8 points, senior guard DeMarcus Nelson 11.9 and sophomore guard Jon Scheyer 11.0 for the Blue Devils.

Michigan trails the all-time series, 17-7, and has lost the last five meetings with Duke. Freshman guard Manny Harris leads Michigan in scoring at 16.6 points per game.
