Villanova aims to continue strong start vs. Hartford

Dec 14, 2007 - 5:42 PM Hartford (5-6) at No. 18 Villanova (7-1) 7:00 pm EST

VILLANOVA, Pennsylvania (Ticker) -- After maintaining its civic pride, 18th-ranked Villanova looks to continue its impressive record in non-conference play at home when it hosts Hartford on Friday.

The Wildcats won their 13th consecutive game against the four teams that constitute the "Big 5" rivalry when they downed Temple, 101-93, on Monday.

Villanova has won 21 of their last 22 games against non-conference opponents at The Pavilion, including seven straight. The Wildcats have won their three home games this season by an average margin of 18 points.

Sophomore guard Scottie Reynolds, who is averaging 16.6 points per game this season, scored 27 points to pace Villanova on Monday.

It was the first time the Wildcats hit the 100-point mark in a game this season - a feat they achieved twice last campaign.

Hartford, which is 0-6 on the road this season, snapped a two-game skid Tuesday when it defeated Monmouth, 67-53.

Senior guard Brian Glowiak, who had hit just 11 3-pointers all season long entering the game, hit all five of his attempts from the arc.
