Oregon looks to down second Big 12 team in three weeks

Dec 15, 2007 - 2:12 PM No. 16 Oregon (8-1) at Nebraska (7-2) 2:00 pm EST

OMAHA, Nebraska (Ticker) -- With its leading scorer likely back from injury, No. 16 Oregon aims to defeat its second Big 12 team in three weeks when it meets Nebraska on Saturday.

The Ducks are making their second trip to the Midwest this season, with their first journey a 80-77 win over Kansas State on November 29.

Oregon's most recent win was a 93-66 rout of Sacramento State on Tuesday. Marty Leunen made up for the absence of leading scorer Malik Hairston by scoring 23 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in leading the Ducks to their fourth straight win.

Nebraska and Oregon met in Eugene last season, with the Ducks walking away with a 68-56 win over the Huskers. Senior forward Bryce Taylor, who is one of four Oregon players to average at least 15.0, scored 18 in the victory.

The game presents an interesting mix of contrasts, even though both team favor an uptempo style. Nebraska has yet to allow 75 points in a contest this season while Oregon has surpassed that mark in each of its nine games.

The Huskers notched their second straight victory Tuesday with an 82-37 rout of Savannah State.

Nebraska leads the all-time series, 6-4.
