Memphis visits Cincinnati in first true road game of season

Dec 19, 2007 - 2:00 PM No. 2 Memphis (8-0) at Cincinnati (4-5) 7:00 pm EST

CINCINNATI (Ticker) - Second-ranked Memphis will have its first true road game of the season when it visits Cincinnati on Wednesday.

The Tigers have played four games on a neutral floor to go along with four games at home in matching their best start since beginning 8-0 during the 1995-96 season.

A win would give Memphis the second-best start in school history behind the 1985-86 team that opened the season with 20 consecutive wins.

The Tigers have eight players that average at least 7.0 points, led by preseason Conference USA Player of the Year Chris Douglas-Roberts, who is scoring 18.3 points per contest.

The Bearcats are currently on a three-game losing streak - all on the road - and have failed to score 60 points in all three of the defeats.

Guard Deonta Vaughn leads Cincinnati, scoring 14.4 points per game and handing out 5.1 assists.

Cincinnati leads the all-time series, 36-29, but has lost to Memphis each of the last two seasons.
