Stanford goes for sixth straight win against Texas Tech

Dec 22, 2007 - 2:47 PM No. 25 Stanford (9-1) at Texas Tech (6-4) 4:30 pm EST

DALLAS (Ticker) -- No. 25 Stanford plays its last non-conference road game of the regular season on Saturday, facing Bobby Knight and Texas Tech.

The Cardinal have won five straight since their only loss, a 79-67 setback at Siena on November 17. Stanford has an average victory margin of 21.4 points over that stretch.

Junior guard Anthony Goods is one of three Stanford starters averaging double figures, scoring 12.8 points per contest. Junior forward Lawrence Hill averages 11.0 points and 6.1 rebounds, while 7-foot sophomore center Robin Lopez averages 10.9 rebounds and 6.4 rebounds.

Robin's twin brother Brook Lopez made his return in the last game, a 74-48 victory over Santa Clara on Wednesday. Lopez, who missed the first nine games after being suspended for academic reasons, posted 20 points and six rebounds in 19 minutes of action.

The Red Raiders have been a model of inconsistency, having alternated wins and losses their last four games. Texas Tech is coming off an 80-63 loss at New Mexico on December 15.

Senior guard Martin Zeno averages a team-high 15 points and leads the Red Raiders with 5.1 boards per game. Junior guard Alan Voskuil averages 12.7 points and freshman guard John Roberson 10.4.

The teams have only played once before with Stanford winning last season in San Jose, California.
