Butler aiming for seventh straight win

INDIANAPOLIS (Ticker) - Butler looks to continue its winning ways when its hosts Wisconsin-Green Bay on Thursday.

Fourteenth-ranked Butler (14-1, 3-1 Horizon) won its last game on Monday to extend its current win streak to six. Freshman forward Matt Howard scored 19 points as the Bulldogs proved they could win without their talented back court leading the way, posting a 66-55 victory over Loyola-Chicago.

Senior A.J. Graves scored just seven points in the win while guards Julian Betko and Drew Streicher combined for only 11.

"This was a really good team effort," Butler coach Brad Stevens said. "We've challenged our guys ... to come out early and we did that well tonight."

Wisconsin-Green Bay (9-5, 3-1) is looking to improve to 4-1 in conference play on Thursday for the first time since the 2004-05 season.

The Phoenix picked up their third straight victory on Saturday, recording a 52-49 victory over Wright State.

Ryan Tillema scored 17 points and five rebounds to lead Wisconsin-Green Bay to the win - its fourth in five games. Tillema is currently second on the team in scoring, averaging 12.2 points while Mike Schachtner leads the Phoenix in with 17.6 points.
