Stanford eyeing back-to-back victories

CORVALLIS, Oregon (Ticker) - Stanford goes for back-to-back wins on Thursday when they host Oregon State.

Stanford (12-2, 1-1 Pac-10) bounced back from just its second loss of the year during its last game on Saturday. Anthony Goods scored 11 points and Lawrence Hill grabbed 13 rebounds off the bench as the No. 23 Cardinal got back on track with a 52-46 victory over Southern California.

The win came despite Stanford's sloppy play as it shot just 27 percent from the field and committed 18 turnovers while recording just eight assists.

Goods, a 6-3 junior guard, is second on the team in scoring, averaging 13 points a game while Hill is averaging 9.3 points and six rebounds while playing just over 22 minutes a contest.

Oregon State (6-8, 0-2) continued to struggle during its last game on Saturday, suffering its fourth straight loss, 72-53, to Arizona State.

The Beavers shot just 33 percent from the field during the loss and committed 17 turnovers.

Oregon State, which has lost five of its last six overall, have not even come close to victory in those losses. The Beavers have been outscored by an average of 11.2 points over their last five setbacks.
