Texas visits Missouri in Big 12 Conference opener

COLUMBIA, Missouri (Ticker) -- Seventh-ranked Texas goes for its third straight win when it visits Missouri in the Big 12 Conference opener for both teams Saturday.

After suffering its only two losses of the season to end the month of December, Texas has won its last two contests, including an 81-62 victory over then-No. 24 Saint Mary's on January 5.

The Longhorns have won nine straight against the Tigers with their last loss coming on February 27, 1999. Texas has won the last three games over Missouri by double digits.

Texas has also not lost a conference opener under coach Rick Barnes - going 9-0.

Sophomore guard D.J. Augustin scored 30 points in the win over Saint Mary's and leads five players in double figures at 20.5 points per game.

Missouri has alternated wins and losses in its last four games but is a perfect 7-0 at home after a 96-76 victory over Missouri-Kansas City on Tuesday.

DeMarre Carroll leads the Tigers in scoring and rebounding at 14.8 points and 6.8 rebounds per contest.
