Jan 24, 2008 - 3:28 PM No. 6 Washington St (16-1) at Arizona (12-6) 8:30 pm EST

TUCSON, Arizona (Ticker) - Sixth-ranked Washington State looks to continue its momentum against Arizona when the two Pac-10 schools clash on Thursday.

Last season, the Cougars swept the two-game series with Arizona for the first time since 1983, improving to 3-41 in their last 44 meetings with the Wildcats.

Washington State (16-1, 4-1 Pac-10) bounced back from its lone loss of the season against UCLA with wins in its past two games last week.

The Cougars continue to lead the nation in scoring defense at 52.5 points per game and are led by Derrick Low, who is averaging 14.4 points per game. The senior netted a season-high 27 points in Washington State's 69-60 victory against Oregon on Sunday.

The Wildcats (12-6, 2-3) have lost four of their past seven games but are coming off a 79-75 victory at California on Saturday.

Freshman Jerryd Bayless is averaging 22.0 points over his past three games after missing four contests with a sprained knee.

Bayless had 24 points in the win over the Bears for his eighth 20-point game of the season.
