Indiana, Wisconsin look to bounce back in key matchup
Jan 31, 2008 - 2:45 PM No. 11 Indiana (17-2) at No. 13 Wisconsin (16-3) 9:00 pm ESTMADISON, Wisconsin (Ticker) - A pair of Big Ten teams look to get back in the win column on Thursday when No. 11 Indiana visits No. 13 Wisconsin in a key conference matchup.
The Hoosiers (17-2, 6-0 Big Ten) had their 29-game home winning streak snapped in Saturday's 68-63 setback to Connecticut.
The conference's leading scorer, freshman Eric Gordon, who is netting 21.7 points per game, had just 14 points in Saturday's loss on 5-of-16 shooting. D.J. White had 13 points and 10 rebounds but it was his lowest scoring output since he netted 10 on December 1 against Southern Illinois.
However, Indiana may have a tough time bouncing back in Wisconsin where it has lost six straight times dating to January 25, 1998.
The Badgers (16-3, 6-1) dropped their first conference game of the season at Purdue on Saturday in a 60-56 setback.
In the only meeting between the teams last season, Indiana upset then-No.2 Wisconsin, 71-66.
