Texas, Oklahoma look to remain in Big 12 race

NORMAN, Oklahoma (Ticker) - Oklahoma hasn't fared too well against Texas in recent games, losing eight of 11 meetings with the Longhorns.

The Sooners (15-6, 3-3 Big 12) hope to start a reversal of fortune against 12th-ranked Texas (17-4, 4-2) on Wednesday after losing the last three games in the series by at least 10 points.

Freshman forward Blake Griffin leads Oklahoma at 14.3 points and 8.7 rebounds. The Sooners had a three-game winning streak snapped with a 60-52 loss at Texas A&M on Saturday.

Sophomore guard D.J. Augustin is at 19.9 points and 5.9 assists for Texas, which rallied from a 14-point deficit in the first half on Saturday to defeat Baylor, 80-72.

Sophomore swingman Damion Jones, averaging 13.4 points and 10.5 rebounds, finished with 17 points after coming off the bench for the first time in his collegiate career.

The Sooners lead the all-time series, 45-24, and are 8-2 at home this season, losing to Stephen F. Austin and Kansas State.
