Butler returns home, goes for seventh straight win

Feb 14, 2008 - 11:49 AM Youngstown St (8-16) at No. 10 Butler (22-2) 7:00 pm EST

INDIANAPOLIS (Ticker) - After a successful three-game road trip, No. 10 Butler returns to its home floor looking for its seventh consecutive victory when it hosts Youngstown State in the Horizon League on Thursday.

With a win, the Bulldogs (22-2, 11-2 Horizon), who have won 13 of the past 15 meetings with Youngstown State, can also match last season's record for the best 25-game mark in school history.

Battling a sore right ankle, senior Mike Green had 24 points, a career-high 13 rebounds and eight assists in Tuesday's 83-75 overtime victory over Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Green is scoring at 15.3 points per game to lead the Bulldogs, who also defeated Wisconsin-Green Bay and Valparaiso on the eight-day road trip.

Butler is 9-0 at the Hinkle Fieldhouse this season, and remaining unbeaten at home should not be much of a problem against the Penguins, who are a dismal 2-10 on the road.

The Penguins (8-16, 4-10) have lost seven of their last eight and are coming off a 50-47 setback against Wright State on Saturday.

Senior John Barber scored a career-high 25 points in the loss. Byron Davis, who leads the team in scoring at 14.3 per game, had a season-low four points in Saturday's defeat.
