Butler wraps up regular season against lowly Detroit
Mar 1, 2008 - 11:05 AM Detroit (7-21) at No. 13 Butler (26-3) 2:00 pm ESTINDIANAPOLIS (Ticker) - Butler ends its regular season at home Saturday, hosting lowly Detroit in Horizon League action.
The 13th-ranked Bulldogs (26-3, 15-2 Horizon) clinched the top seed in the league tournament with a 66-61 victory over Wright State on Thursday.
Julian Betko scored all 17 of his points in the first half, setting a career high, and Mike Green added 15, seven rebounds and eight assists as the Bulldogs bounced back from a loss to Drake on February 23.
The Titans (7-21, 3-13) are playing their last game of the season and have already clinched last place in the league.
Detroit suffered its third straight loss, 59-56, at Valparaiso on Thursday. Josh Samarco led the way with 15 points.
Butler is looking for the second straight season sweep of Detroit, having won the first meeting, 53-46, back on December 6.
