Michigan State hopes to continue home domination of Indiana

Mar 2, 2008 - 1:42 PM No. 12 Indiana (24-4) at No. 15 Michigan St (22-6) 2:00 pm EST

EAST LANSING, Michigan (Ticker) -- No. 15 Michigan State tries to continue its home dominance over 12th-ranked Indiana on Sunday and prevent their Big Ten rival from keeping pace atop the conference.

The Spartans (22-6, 10-5) have won the past 13 home meetings - dating back to 1991 - with the Hoosiers (24-4, 13-2), who trail both Wisconsin (14-2) and Purdue (14-2) by one-half game for first place with three to play.

Michigan State also is looking to rebound after a tough loss on Thursday, when it shot 35 percent (19-of-55) in a 57-42 setback at Wisconsin.

Goran Suton had 14 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Spartans, while Drew Neitzel scored a season-low three points on 1-of-10 shooting.

Despite the controversy surrounding former coach Kelvin Sampson, the Hoosiers are coming off a 72-69 victory over Ohio State on Tuesday that improved them to 2-0 under interim coach Dan Dakich.

Sophomore Armon Bassett had his second straight 20-point game with 23, while freshman Eric Gordon scored 17. Gordon leads the conference in scoring at 21.4 points per game.

It is the final home game for Michigan State, which is 16-0 at the Breslin Center this season.
