Georgia Tech, Georgia State meet for first time in 13 years

ATLANTA (Ticker) - Georgia Tech and Georgia State - two teams located in downtown Atlanta - meet for the first time in nearly 13 years on Thursday.

This will be the first meeting between the 21st-ranked Yellow Jackets and the Panthers since a December 4, 1993 encounter in which Georgia Tech came away with a 95-65 win.

The 21st-ranked Yellow Jackets own a 14-2 record in the all-time series.

Lewis Clinch scored 16 points and Ra'Sean Dickey added 15 as Georgia Tech posted a 100-70 victory over Jackson State on Monday. Thaddeus Young and fellow freshman Zach Peacock both contributed 14 points and first-year guard Javaris Crittenton handed out 10 assists for the Yellow Jackets, who shot 65 percent (39-of-60) from the field.

Meanwhile, Georgia State is coming off a season-opening 72-66 setback to Charleston on Saturday.

Lance Perique scored 19 points and Leonard Mendez added 12 for the Panthers, who drained 7-of-14 3-pointers.
